Pals Paper Arts (PPA) Challenge #2

There's a fine sketch challenge this week from the Pals Paper Arts folks!

And here is my try at the sketch. I took a look at paper I have on hand, and chose the stripe paper from the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper from the 2009 sale-a-bration promotion. In the end, I used only a bit of the paper, but it gave me a great color selection for the card.

I used:

Cardstock: Stampin' Up - Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery. Prism - Birchtone Light(I don't have Sahara Sand)

Pattered paper: From Delicate Dots Designer Series

Stamps: Stampin' Up - Darling Dots (star), Mini Mates (sentiment)

Ink/markers: Stampin' Up - So Saffron, Certainly Celery

Ribbon - Stampin' Up - Certainly Celery Twill (also from Sale-a-bration), unknown - white rick rack

Other: Fiskars scallop punch, Martha Stewart postage stamp punch, Creative Memories 1" sqare punch, unknown button

Pals Paper Arts (PPA) Challenge #1

What fun to see a new challenge blog from the talented Paper Pals!

They are starting off with a color challenge. I had to make some adjustments, since I didn't have the exact product colors called for.

I chose Taken with Teal and Rose Red to substitute for the Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo shades, since I felt they were the closest colors that I had in the fuchsia and aqua color groups.

The card is 5 1/2" by 4 1/4". The design/layout of the card is from PaperCrafts Card Creations Volume 7.

I added some color to the Designer Series paper with Stampin' Write markers and stamped the image by inking the stamp with the markers. The flower image is adhered with dimensionals.

Here are the rest of the details:

Cardstock: Paper Trey Ink White Stampers Select (card body); Stampin' Up Taken with Teal and Rose Red textured cardstock, Stampin' Up Whisper White (stamped image)

Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Designer Series Patterns

Ink and Markers: Stampin' Up Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip

Ribbon: unknown, 3/8 inch grosgrain, brown

Stamps: Stampin' Up Doodle This (flower image); Lizzie Ann Designs Sketched Sentiments (sentiment)

Tools and such: Corner rounder, Stampin' Up dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by to look!

Karen Giron Sweet Sunday Challenge #28

A card for Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Challenge #28

I didn't have any ideas at all when I saw the sketch. I decided to take a look at what I might have for a large, round embellishment and found some Bazzill Really BIG Buttons, and went from there. It's got a mix of old and new items.

The card is 6x6 inches, so with the size and the weight and bulk of the embellishments, I'm afraid it's not a mail-able card.

Thanks for the fun challenge!

I used:

Cardstock: Bazzill - colors unknown

Pattered paper: Collage Press - Knave of Hearts, crafting strips

Stamps: Stampin' Up - It's About Time (clock and gear), Simple Frienship (True Friend sentiment)

Ink: Staz On - jet black (on button), Stampin' Up - basic black

Other: Bazzill button, Making Memories decorative brad, Unknown twine

Tools used: Punches, various - 1 3/8", 1 1/2", 3/4". Stamp-a-ma-jig
