Summer Card Camp - Online Card Classes - PreClass Challenge 1

My card for the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp is a thank you card. I made it to thank Lisa Spangler of Sideoats and Scribbles . I was fortunate to win a seat in this class compliments of a contest on Lisa's blog. A sincere thank you to Lisa and everyone at Online Card Classes for this opportunity.

Runway Inspired Challenge

My first time to take a try at a card for the Runway Inspired Challenge. Specifically, challenge # 32.

Obviously, it is a very literal take on the fashion photo. :-)

The contrasts of texture/weight caught my eye!

I coated the lower area of black cardstock with Glossy Accents & added sparkles to copy the black patent shoes with rhinestone trim. I  gathered a satin ribbon for the skirt. To approximate the contrasting texture of the sweater, I ran the upper piece of cardstock through a crimper both horizontally and vertically. And, while the photo doesn't do a good job of showing, the sentiment is die cut from glimmer paper, with the curly brackets being a nod to the punctuation on the sweater in the original image.

I used: Silver sparkle paper, Stampin' UP!. Headline dies, Papertrey Ink. Sparkles, Close to My Heart. Cardstock and ribbon, unknown.

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop -- Clean & Simple Sketch 171

Thanks for visiting. This card follows sketch #171 from the Clean & Simple site and is an entry for the Papertrey Ink December 2011 blog hop.

The PTI hop this month requires use of a holiday leftover. The pleated circle behind the flower element is is my leftover. It's from a box of candy received for Christmas.
